Some of Scotland’s biggest comedy stars are set to perform in Paisley this autumn after the line-up for the second Paisley Comedy Festival was unveiled.
The four-day festival will run from September 10 to 13 across Paisley Town Hall and Paisley Arts Centre, bringing a mix of established performers, rising talent and family-friendly entertainment to the town.
Among the headline acts are Susan Calman, Stuart Mitchell and Christopher Macarthur-Boyd.
The festival returns following its successful debut last year and forms part of OneRen’s growing programme of cultural events in Paisley.
Councillor Lisa-Marie Hughes, Chair of OneRen, said: “We are delighted to unveil the line-up for the second Paisley Comedy Festival as our expanding cultural calendar strengthens Paisley’s place as a leading destination for arts, cultural and major events.
“The reaction to last year’s opening festival was fantastic, so we are looking forward to building on its success and showcasing why Paisley’s reputation as a festivals town is growing all of the time.
“Audiences and performers enjoy our venues, which is reflected in the calibre of acts that we have been able to attract. We are looking forward to a brilliant four days of comedy.”
Fresh from a sell-out UK tour, Stuart Mitchell will bring his popular “Stuart Mitchell & Friends” show to Paisley Town Hall on both the Thursday and Saturday of the festival.
Susan Calman will appear on Sunday evening as part of her first stand-up tour in a decade. Her show, Tall Tales, features stories from her recent adventures, including cruising, driving tanks and getting older.
Christopher Macarthur-Boyd will perform his latest show, Howling at the Moon, at Paisley Arts Centre on the Saturday. The comedian is also known as co-host of the popular Here Comes the Guillotine podcast and for appearances on a range of television comedy programmes.
The festival will also support emerging comedy talent through open-mic nights at Paisley Arts Centre on the Thursday and Sunday evenings.
A family audience will be catered for with Comedy Club 4 Kids on Sunday afternoon, while A Scottish Comedy Collective will perform on the Friday night.
