A woman who performed a sex act on a sleeping man has been jailed for 21 months.
Ewa Nosalska, 44, preyed upon her victim at a property in Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire, on 19th September 2023.
The High Court in Glasgow was told that Nosalska knew the man, who had visited her home that night.
He fell asleep on the living room sofa and woke to find Nosalska naked and performing a sex act on him.
The man told Nosalska “No”, told her to stop and asked what she was doing.
Nosalska later left the property and, when arrested by police, told officers that she knew he was asleep and that she was drunk.
She later told a social worker that she had no recollection of the incident due to her state of intoxication.
It was also heard that Nosalska later committed further offences, including a sexual assault on a 13-year-old boy.
Nosalska stroked the terrified boy on the thigh and touched him on the chest and body while on a bus in Glasgow’s east end.
She was previously jailed for 13 months for those offences.
When sentencing Nosalska for the present offence, Judge Alistair Watson said: “While this is an unusual case, it is not uncommon for this court to deal with matters in which men sexually abuse sleeping females for their own gratification.
“This court will always regard such behaviour as being particularly serious.
“I am satisfied that simply because the sexes are reversed here that is no reason why the court should take any different approach in this case.
“Academic research indicates that males who are subject to sexual assault by females are likely to suffer an equivalent psychological trauma to female victims.
“I therefore intend to treat this in exactly the same way I would have had it been a male who sexually assaulted a sleeping female.
“I consider that the crime in this case was aggravated by the fact that your victim was asleep at the time and so was particularly vulnerable, having entrusted his safety to you.”
Nosalska was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
