Emergency services were called out to a Paisley bar tonight with reports of a gas leak – but it was later thought to have been a ‘stink bomb’.

The initial response sparked the evacuation of a Wetherspoons bar, The Last Post at County Square and the closure and cancellation of trains at Gilmour Street Station around 9pm.

According to Radio Clyde News, the response may have been sparked after youths let off a ‘stink bomb type device’ within the pub.

At one point 8 fire engines attended the scene as well as police and ambulance units.

Trains have now been reinstated and there is no safety risk to the public.
