Caught in the Act – Robbery Paisley
At 8pm on 18th October local Officers were on patrol in Broomlands Court Paisley when they observed a suspect adult male intimidating a younger male. As Police approached they observed the suspect male remove an item of property from the 16 yr old victim. Enquires revealed that the 50yr old male suspect had threatened the victim with violence before allegedly stealing his mobile phone.
Inspector Tracy Harkins states ‘ the suspect obviously saw the young victim as an easy target however, due to the close proximity and quick actions of the police officers the offender was caught in the act and quickly apprehended. The result could have been dramatically different and I am pleased to say that although the victim was badly shaken he was unharmed.’
The suspect male was thereafter arrested and kept in police custody to appear at Paisley Sheriff court.
