Officers on patrol in Broomlands Court, Paisley have arrested a man after they witnessed him commit a robbery .
At around 8pm on Thursday 18th October officers were on patrol when they observed a man intimidating a teenager.
As Police approached they witnessed the 50-year-old remove an item of property from his 16-year-old victim.
Enquires revealed that the teen had been threatened with violence before allegedly stealing his mobile phone.
Inspector Tracy Harkins from Paisley Police, said: “The suspect obviously saw the young victim as an easy target, however, due to the close proximity and quick actions of the police officers the offender was caught in the act and quickly apprehended.
“The result could have been dramatically different and I am pleased to say that although the victim was badly shaken he was unharmed.”
The suspect male was thereafter arrested and kept in police custody to appear at Paisley Sheriff court.
