A Paisley PHD student has successfully shed several stone which has left her fighting fit.
Super slimmer Kristina Sladekova was left down and depressed after piling on the pounds meant she was unable to exercise or fit into any of her clothes.
The former fitness fanatic’s weight rocketed when she temporarily swapped Scotland for Spain and indulged in one tapas too many, which gradually resulted in a weight gain of several stone.
In a bid to reclaim her life and previous fitness levels, Kristina, 36,vowed to take on her ‘food monster’ ditching her binge eating habits and diet demons with the help of NSC Clinics in Glasgow.
She said: “I struggled with my weight on and off throughout my life because I have always loved food and it was also my comfort through difficult times.
“At first it was only a few kilos but before I knew it that became 30 kilos and suddenly any weight loss attempts seemed daunting and unattainable. This depressed me and caused me to turn to food even more.”
Kristina’s excess weight left the former runner, who’d previously ran 5K regularly, with no energy and any exercise left her tired quickly.
Kristina added: “I felt so down because of my physical state, I knew I had to do something but I felt powerless against the massive task I faced. I knew then that I needed help and I contacted NSC Clinics.”
This helped Kristina change her mindset when it came to food, helped transform her eating habits and got her back on track to regain her fitness levels.

Dr Charlotte Norton, Medical Director for the National Slimming Clinics, said: “We are the UK’s largest group of medical weight loss clinics with over 50,000 active patients each year. Kristina added: “The NSC weight loss programme essentially enabled me to rewire my brain and my experience of losing weight with NSC Clinics has been nothing but positive. I no longer see food as my enemy like I used to, I no longer see it as a comfort either.
“The most important factor that made it possible for me to succeed throughout this journey was realising that this was not a diet, not a quick fix, but a permanent change of lifestyle. It was realising that I eat to live, not live to eat.”
