Police Scotland are appealing for information following the serious assault of a 57-year-old man at the Piazza Shopping Centre.

The incident took place around 5.15pm on Friday. It has been established that the man was attacked by a group of male youths outside the toilets of the shopping centre.

He was treated for serious injuries at Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Extensive enquiries into the incident are ongoing, including CCTV, and officers ask anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable John Sharkey, from Paisley CID, said: “This was a violent and entirely unprovoked attack, which has left a man seriously injured.

“We believe a group of at least three young males were involved, having been seen in the area of the toilets at the time, and are asking anyone who saw the youths or has any information on the incident to come forward.
