Children are being invited to a free gardening workshop at Dobbies Braehead on Sunday 2nd November, where they can learn how to help winter birds thrive in their gardens.

As part of Dobbies’ monthly Little Seedlings Club, the November session will focus on how different types of birds survive during the colder months, what foods give them the most energy, and which should be avoided.

Young attendees will also get to explore different bird feeders and discover simple ways to attract more birds to their gardens this winter. The event includes a hands-on activity where children will make their own fatball bird feeder to take home and hang in their garden to encourage wildlife to flourish.

Dobbies’ Little Seedlings Club is designed to be a fun, interactive way for children to learn about nature and gardening through games, activities, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

Dobbies’ Events Programme Manager, Ayesha Nickson, said: “Our Little Seedlings Club at our Glasgow store this November is ideal for inspiring nature lovers from a young age.

“It is recommended to start feeding birds in late autumn when the temperatures start to drop. This workshop is perfectly timed for kids to discover more about birds and ways to attract them during the winter months. We are looking forward to welcoming the Little Seedlings and to see their bird feeder creations.”

The free event takes place on Sunday 2nd November at Dobbies Braehead. Places can be reserved online at www.dobbies.com/events.

Customers can also explore Dobbies’ range of bird and wildlife products, including food, feeders and nest boxes, both in-store and online.
