Bellway Homes has backed ACCORD Hospice’s annual Light up a Life Appeal by funding a large Christmas tree at the Paisley hospice.
The twenty-three-foot fir tree, purchased with support from four sub-contractors, has been installed within the hospice grounds and forms the centrepiece of the charity’s festive remembrance campaign.
The Light up a Life Appeal allows families and supporters to sponsor a light on the tree in memory of a loved one, creating a shared space for reflection during the Christmas period while also raising vital funds for hospice services.
Families and supporters were recently invited to an illumination event where the lights were officially switched on. Guests gathered to share memories, enjoy Christmas music and refreshments, and mark the occasion together.
Jennifer Cowley, Sales Manager at Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland West), said the company was pleased to step in and help cover the cost of the tree, adding that large Christmas trees are a significant expense at this time of year. She said Bellway greatly appreciates the ongoing work of ACCORD Hospice and the support it provides to families across Renfrewshire.
David McFadden, Fundraising and Communications Manager at ACCORD Hospice, thanked Bellway Homes and its partners for their support, saying each light represents a cherished memory and brings comfort to families during the festive season.
The sub-contractors who supported the appeal were STCS Joinery, McCafferty Brickwork, Jordan Electrics and Glenavon Plumbing.
ACCORD Hospice provides free palliative and end-of-life care to people living with or affected by life-limiting illness across Renfrewshire and parts of East Renfrewshire. The hospice supports around 1,800 people each year.
Bellway Homes, alongside its sister brand Ashberry Homes, is currently developing three residential sites in Renfrewshire, including Dargavel Village in Bishopton and Ferry Village and Ferry Grove in Braehead.
Anyone wishing to dedicate a light in memory of someone special can do so throughout December via the ACCORD Hospice website.
