Polling stations have opened across Renfrewshire and the rest of Scotland as voters head to the polls in the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary Election.
Voters have from 7am until 10pm on Thursday 7th May to cast their ballot.
Across Renfrewshire, there are 68 polling places and 190 polling stations covering the three constituencies of Paisley, Renfrewshire North and Cardonald, and Renfrewshire West and Levern Valley.
More than 500 polling staff are working across the area, with hundreds of ballot boxes set to be transported to the count at Braehead Arena after polls close.
The electorate across the three Renfrewshire constituencies totals more than 188,000 voters. Postal voting has also seen strong demand, with more than 33,000 postal votes issued across the area.
Voters are choosing constituency MSPs using the first-past-the-post system, while a separate regional ballot will help decide the West Scotland regional list seats.
Once polling stations close at 10pm, ballot boxes will be taken to Braehead Arena where counting will begin on Friday morning.
The Renfrewshire count will cover the Paisley, Renfrewshire North and Cardonald, and Renfrewshire West and Levern Valley constituencies, along with votes for the West Scotland regional list.
Results are expected throughout Friday, with declarations likely from early afternoon onwards.
