A Renfrewshire-based technology company has unveiled what it describes as its most advanced laboratory gas generator to date.

PEAK Scientific, headquartered at Inchinnan Business Park, has launched its new Genius NEO system at the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) conference in the United States. The company says the new generator sets a new benchmark for performance, gas purity, sustainability and noise reduction.

The Genius NEO has been developed by PEAK Scientific’s engineering team and incorporates a number of proprietary components. According to the company, it delivers higher gas purity levels than any previous PEAK generator while also operating more quietly and efficiently.

Petra Gierga, Head of Product Management at PEAK Scientific, said: “Genius NEO is the result of truly exceptional work by our engineering team.

“We set an ambitious challenge in pushing further than we ever have before on purity; we have taken on board customer feedback and had to think differently about what noise in the lab environment meant to our customers; and make sure we are delivering on the sustainable plans we have in place as an organisation.”

Sustainability was a key focus during the development of the new product. PEAK Scientific said the generator has been built using sustainably sourced components containing recyclable materials and features reduced power consumption compared to earlier models, helping laboratories lower both energy costs and carbon emissions.

Founded in Scotland, PEAK Scientific manufactures nitrogen, hydrogen and zero air generation systems used in laboratories around the world, primarily supporting liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and gas chromatography (GC) applications. The company forms part of PEAK International Group and operates globally from its Renfrewshire headquarters.
