Senior site manager David McClure has been recognised as one of the UK’s top house-building professionals after winning a National House-Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job 2026 Quality Award for his work at Taylor Wimpey’s Castle Gate development at Maidenhill in East Renfrewshire.
Mr McClure, who won the NHBC Scottish Regional title last year, received the latest award in recognition of his work at the Maidenhill development.
The Pride in the Job awards recognise site managers for maintaining high standards in house building. Thousands of assessments take place across around 7,500 sites each year, with 450 site managers selected as Quality Award winners. According to the NHBC, that places winners in the top six per cent of site managers across the UK.
David McClure, Senior Site Manager at Castle Gate, said: “Following last year’s success and winning the Regional title in Scotland, it’s an honour to receive a Quality Award from the NHBC in this year’s competition. The whole team at Castle Gate is passionate about building high-quality homes, and I’m delighted that our efforts continue to be recognised. For me, being consistently acknowledged as one of the top site managers, not only locally but across the UK, is a true career highlight and something I’m extremely proud of.”
Brian Henderson, Production Director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We have always been committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and customer service, and our continued recognition as an NHBC award-winning homebuilder reflects that dedication. This award is thoroughly deserved, and we’re incredibly proud of David McClure and the team at Castle Gate.”
Cassandra Codling, Senior Regional Director at NHBC, said: “Congratulations to David McClure who has demonstrated incredible dedication, passion, commitment and leadership to produce homes of exceptional quality. The judges look for site managers who go beyond strong performance and demonstrate qualities that lift a good site manager to an exceptional one.
“The competition is at the heart of NHBC’s core purpose to raise standards in house building. It inspires site managers to make their mark on the industry, earning the respect of their peers and leaving a legacy of homes built to the highest quality standards.”
Mr McClure will now go forward to compete for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards later this year. The national Supreme Award winners will be announced in January 2027.
