St Vincent’s Hospice is encouraging more people to volunteer to help support patients and families across Renfrewshire.
The Howwood-based hospice has launched a new appeal highlighting the range of volunteer opportunities available and the difference volunteers make to its work.
The hospice says volunteers help in a variety of roles, including welcoming visitors, supporting fundraising events, working in its shops and providing administrative support.
It says full training and ongoing support are provided, with roles available for people who can offer anything from a few hours each week to more regular volunteering.
The hospice said: “Volunteers are at the very heart of St Vincent’s Hospice. Every day, their kindness, dedication and generosity help us provide compassionate care and vital support to patients and families across our community.”
It added: “From welcoming visitors and supporting fundraising events, to helping in our shops or offering administrative support, our volunteers bring energy, warmth and reassurance to everything they do. Quite simply, we couldn’t do what we do without them.”
The hospice says volunteering can also bring benefits to those who give their time.
One volunteer said: “Volunteering has given me far more than I ever expected. It’s not just about giving time – it’s about connection, friendship and being part of something that really matters.”
