A Johnstone pub has launched a special cocktail menu inspired by local areas of the town as Scotland prepare to kick off their World Cup campaign.The Spateston Inn has unveiled its new “Scheme Selection” range, featuring five cocktails named after communities and neighbourhoods familiar to generations of Johnstone residents.
The themed menu includes Paka Punch, Jtoon Juice, Spateston Spritz, Corseford Cooler and Howwood Hooch.
Several of the names are rooted in local culture. “PAKA” is a reference to the PPYT (Public Park Young Team), while Jtoon Juice takes its name from Johnstone itself. The Spateston Spritz celebrates the pub’s home community, Corseford Cooler references the Corseford area of the town, and Howwood Hooch is named after Howwood Road.
The cocktails have been launched ahead of Scotland’s opening World Cup matches, with the pub encouraging supporters to gather to watch the games on its big screens.
Posting on social media, the Spateston Inn said: “Come on down to the Spateston Inn this weekend to try our new selection of cocktails to cheer on Scotland in the group stages.
“With a fantastic atmosphere, banging new cocktails, big screens and fellow scotland fans it’s not a night out you will want to miss!!!
“Get down to secure the remaining tickets £10pp.”
Each cocktail is priced at £10 and features its own mix of spirits, liqueurs and soft drinks.
The pub is hosting Scotland supporters throughout the tournament, with tickets still available for some World Cup events.
