Mobile network upgrades taking place in Paisley could cause interference to some free-to-view television services received through an aerial.
The upgrades are intended to improve the speed, performance and coverage of mobile services. However, there is a small chance they could affect television services such as Freeview, BT, TalkTalk and YouView.
Viewers who experience interference may notice intermittent sound, blocky images or a loss of TV signal.
Restore TV is offering free support to anyone affected. The programme is delivered by Mova (Digital Mobile Spectrum Limited), which is owned by the UK’s mobile network operators EE, Virgin Media O2 and VodafoneThree.
According to Restore TV, its role is to help viewers continue receiving free-to-view television if mobile network upgrades cause interference. The programme reports to the Coexistence Technical Working Group, chaired by Ofcom.

Cable and satellite television services, including Sky and Virgin, are not affected. However, people who also watch free-to-view television through an aerial may be eligible for a free Restore TV filter.
Restore TV said people are more likely to experience interference if they live in an area with weak digital television reception, use a TV signal booster and have an aerial close to a mobile phone mast.
Support is also available for landlords and property managers where communal aerial systems are affected.
