A man has died after an incident at a Linwood recycling plant owned by William Tracey.

It is understood that a 28-year-old man was crushed during the incident and involved heavy machinery.

Emergency services arrived at the scene following the tragedy at around 12.30pm today, but the man died from his injuries a short time later.

A police spokesperson, said: “About 12.30pm today police were called to an industrial unit in Burnbrae Road, Linwood after a 28-year-old man had been injured.

“Emergency services attended but the man died from his injuries a short time later.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
