Michelle Campbell has been elected as the first MSP for the new Renfrewshire North and Cardonald constituency after the SNP held the seat in the 2026 Scottish Parliament election.

The SNP candidate secured 14,300 votes in the newly-created constituency.

Labour’s Mike McKirdy finished second with 9,424 votes, while Reform UK’s Moira Ramage placed third with 7,083 votes.
Ms Campbell’s majority over Labour was 4,876 votes.

The constituency was contested for the first time following boundary changes introduced by Boundaries Scotland, which saw Cardonald added to the new Renfrewshire North and Cardonald seat.

Turnout in the constituency was 53.8%, with 35,150 votes cast.
