McDonald’s in Linwood has reopened following a major refurbishment of its restaurant and kitchen.

The restaurant welcomed customers back on Thursday 4th June after closing for several weeks while work was carried out.

Inside, the restaurant has been completely redesigned with a more modern layout. The refreshed dining area features a larger number of two-person tables, alongside several larger tables for families and groups.

New booth seating has been installed throughout the restaurant, while high stools and tables provide additional seating options. A dedicated wireless charging table has also been added, allowing customers to charge their devices while they eat.

Several smaller tables are fitted with tablets for children and families to use during their visit. Glass partition screens have also been added to create separate seating areas within the restaurant.

According to McDonald’s, the redesign forms part of its restaurant reimaging programme, which combines a new layout with updated technology.

While the traditional walk-in service remains, the redesign of the kitchen and dining areas is intended to better integrate digital ordering channels, including the McDonald’s App, while making more efficient use of the available space.

The refurbishment has also included improvements for staff, including a redesigned crew room.

One area that remains unfinished is the play area. The previous equipment has been removed and the space currently sits empty behind glass partitions.

However, McDonald’s has confirmed a new play area is due to be installed later this month.

McDonald’s Operations Consultant Ross Reynolds said: “It is great to be reinvesting in our Linwood restaurant! It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of the restaurant and I’m confident the changes will not only benefit our customers but also our restaurant team as these will help make their jobs a little easier.

“We’re also looking forward to welcoming a brand-new play area later this month, which will make the restaurant an even better destination for local families.”

The reopening was marked with red and yellow balloons outside the restaurant, while face painters were on hand to welcome customers back.

The refurbishment follows a phased closure which began in May. The restaurant first closed its sit-in area before operating as a Drive Thru and McDelivery service only. It then closed completely from Wednesday 21st May to allow work to be completed.
